Hershey Symphony Orchestra Announces 2022-23 Season Music Features Broadway, Elton John & Classical Music

Season subscriptions and individual tickets are now on sale for the 2022-23 season of The Hershey Symphony Orchestra.

The season kicks off Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 8 p.m. with “Broadway Showstoppers,” featuring vocal selections by Broadway performers Jonathan Shew and Rebecca Robbins. The concert will be conducted by Maestro Greg Woodbridge.

The “Fall Classics” concert on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 8 p.m. will include classic orchestral favorites perfect for a cool Fall weekend. This concert is under the direction of Dr. Sandra Dackow.

The Hershey Symphony rings in the holidays with two performances of its popular “Holiday Spectacular,” at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022. The concert, under the direction of Greg Woodbridge, will feature a special vocal cameo performance by abc27 news anchor Dennis Owens and will include performances by the choirs of Hershey and Palmyra Middle Schools.

Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 from The New World Symphony, and Vaughan Williams’ Oboe Concerto featuring Andreas Oeste, Principal Oboe, Harrisburg Symphony, will be on the program at the February 17, 2023 concert at 8 p.m. This concert is under the direction of Greg Woodbridge.

On March 11, 2023 at 8 p.m., The Hershey Symphony will hit the Yellow Brick Road with a “Tribute to Elton John,” featuring a rock band, full orchestra, and vocals by Clayton Lee. The concert will be directed by Dr. Sandra Dackow.

The Symphony will wrap up its season with “Italian Accents” on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 8 p.m. The concert will feature Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien and Holly Workman as violinist soloist on “Summer” from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The concert will be directed by Dr. Dackow.

 

Individual tickets range from $20 to $29 and are available for purchase on the Hershey Symphony Orchestra website. Season subscriptions, which include all six concerts, are available for between $99 and $129. Six flex passes, which are good for any or all of the concerts, are available for between $105 for seniors/students and $140 for adults.
