The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate Independence Day with the 21st annual free concert on the lawn of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. “An American Salute” begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024. There is no rain date for the concert.
“We are excited to kick off the Fourth of July holiday with our annual concert on the lawn of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center,” said Hershey Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Susan Cort. “We are proud to be a part of this Central PA summer tradition and look forward to sharing our music at this free concert.”
Greg Woodbridge, Hershey Symphony Music Director, said, “The concert will include music from Broadway, the movies, and of course beloved patriotic selections. We are excited to once again offer this concert to the community.”
The concert is under the direction of Maestro Woodbridge and is sponsored by Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra with support from The Hershey Lodge, Filson Water, Sutliff Chevrolet and PepsiCo. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Guests should note that while pets are allowed, they must be on a leash. Fireworks are not permitted at the event.
Complimentary water will be provided and drinks and food will be available for purchase from food trucks at the event. Guests may also bring their own food and drinks.
A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the orchestra.
