Gregory Woodbridge assumed the role of Music Director and Conductor for the Hershey Symphony in the spring of 2023 after captivating audiences as the principal guest conductor in previous seasons.
Currently celebrating his 11th season as the Associate Conductor of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Woodbridge wears multiple musical hats. He not only guides the artistic endeavors of the orchestra but also leads the Harrisburg Symphony Youth Orchestra (HSYO) and serves as Director of Education for the Harrisburg Symphony.
A proud alumnus of Penn State University, Maestro Woodbridge honed his conducting skills under the tutelage of renowned mentors such as Michael Jinbo at the Pierre Monteux Conducting Institute, Leonid Korchmar at the Kirov Opera and St. Petersburg Conservatory, Ennio Nicotra (founder of the Ilya Musin Society), and received invaluable insights from Gustav Meier and JoAnn Falletta at the Conductor’s Institute Richmond Symphony Masterclass.
Prior to his current roles, Maestro Woodbridge served as the Music Director and Conductor of Central Pennsylvania Symphony and various youth orchestras, including the Wednesday Club Youth Orchestra and the York Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Playing piano since age 7 and violin since age 9, Maestro Woodbridge has also conducted the York Symphony, PMEA Region IV-V State Orchestra Festival, Lebanon Valley College Community Orchestra, and the Messiah College Orchestra. His ability to evoke impassioned performances has garnered acclaim from orchestras spanning the spectrum, from student ensembles to seasoned professionals.
Maestro Woodbridge resides in Mechanicsburg, PA, with his wife Heather and their two children, Delaney and Liam. He is honored to serve the Hershey Symphony and help grow the orchestra after an exceptional first 55 years.
